Karen Strubank is a seasoned professional with approximately 30 years of experience in the mortgage business. Her journey began as a Loan Officer at Source One Mortgage, later acquired by Citimortgage. After spending five years there, Karen decided to transition into the operations side of the industry. She started as a processor at MBS Mortgage and eventually moved into underwriting with United Guaranty, initially as a contract underwriter. Over the years, Karen has worked at various companies, but in 2009, she joined John Adams Mortgage, where she had the opportunity to work with Allison Johnston. When Allison moved to SMP, Karen joined the company on June 13, 2013.

Karen’s decision to join SMP was primarily influenced by her positive experience working with Allison at John Adams Mortgage. The family-oriented nature of SMP, along with the compassionate and accessible management, resonated with Karen and made her feel at home within the company.

When spending time with her family, Karen enjoys their company. Their gatherings are always filled with joyful moments and cherished memories. Karen indulges in various hobbies in her spare time, including gardening, crosswords, and crocheting. These activities provide her with relaxation and enjoyment.

Outside of work and hobbies, Karen is happily married to John Strubank, and they will celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary in October. Together, they have five children: Roseanne (44), Heather (40), Andrew (deceased at 29, would be 37), Emily (30), and Katelyn (24). Karen is also a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Brenden (18) and Tyler (15) from Roseanne, Ryleigh (14) and Sawyer (8) from Heather, Jordyn (13) as a step-granddaughter, and Adelyn Rose (3) from Emily.
